Once again, Troop 169 will be heading back to Camp Read for Summer Camp this year.  The dates are July 22-28, 2018.  Both the Merit Badge Schedule and the full Leaders’ Guide have been uploaded to the Troop’s Google Drive – click HERE to access the Google Drive.
Some important dates and information:
March 29:  Deposit of $50 due in order to get early bird discount.
May 1:  Last day to pay to receive Early bird discount – $430 total
After May 1: $460 total
Starting May 1: Scouts that are fully paid can be registered for advancements, merit badges, etc.
Deposits and other payments should be made to Mr. Turken (checks should be made payable to BSA Troop 169).  Any Scouts wishing to use funds from their Scout account should speak with Mr. Turken.
Only Mr. Fedina can register Scouts for advancements.  Once full payment has been made, please let Mr. Fedina know which merit badges or other activities you would like to register for.  If you need assistance deciding which merit badges and activities to register, speak with Mr. Fedina.   Also, all Scouts and adults need to have a complete BSA Health Form (Parts A, B, & C) prior to attending camp.  This form is also on the Troop Google Drive and can be accessed HERE.
REMINDERS AND UPCOMING EVENTS
  • Scouts should bring the completed safety checklist from the back of the Emergency Preparedness MB Workbook tonight (as well as their entire workbook, pen/pencil, and handbook).
  • February 11 PEEC is hosting a Winter Ecology Hike ($5 per person).  This is a great opportunity for Scouts to fulfill First Class requirement 5(a):  Identify or show evidence of at least 10 kinds of native plants found in your local area or campsite location. You may show evidence by identifying fallen leaves or fallen fruit that you find in the field, or as part of a collection you have made, or by photographs you have taken.  For more information contact PEEC.
  • Boy Scout Troop 376 is hosting a MB Expo in Brooklyn over Presidents’ Day Weekend.  For more information click on the images below to enlarge or visit GNYC BSA.  Free Adult Training is offered as well.  Scouts must obtain signed blue cards from Mr. Fedina prior to attending.
