This Week: November 4, 7:00 p.m.: Chess Tournament: Take what you learned last week and try to win the title of Troop 169 Chess Master. Challenge your fellow Scouts as well as Scouters and see who comes out on top. Check out ScoutLife’s CHESS FEST taking place November 1-4. This meeting fulfills a requirement of the Chess Merit Badge. See SM Fedina for a blue card if you are interested in earning this merit badge – ASM Kendall is a Chess MBC.
Upcoming Meetings: The next few meetings will focus on Orienteering. We will start with map and compass skills, move on to orienteering maps and symbols, and finish up with an orienteering course challenge in Shannen Park (date TBA).
Life to Eagle Roundtable: This event has been changed to the December Roundtable (December 8 @ 7:30 pm at St. Mary’s Church, Port Jervis, no Zoom meeting has been announced yet so stay tuned) and all Life Scouts and parents are invited to attend.
Thanksgiving Baskets: Troop 169 is again participating in the Otisville-Mount Hope Presbyterian Church’s Thanksgiving Basket program to provide food to those in need. Many thanks to Committee Chair Alan Turken and ASM Mike Washalski who are making a monetary donation to our baskets. If you are able to participate you may sign up for a food item donation HERE or if you prefer to donate funds that would be greatly appreciated as well. All donations are requested by our meeting on Thursday, November 4, 2021.
Many thanks to SM Fedina, ASM Kendall, ASM Gonska, and ASM Howe who attended the Extreme Sport Weekend at Camp Turrell with our Scouts. A little rainy and a little chilly but a good time was had by all.
