This week Scouts will continue working on the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge. Scouts should bring their Emergency Preparedness MB Workbook, handbook, Emergency Preparedness Blue Card, pen/pencil, and paper.
Scouts should be having rank advancement requirements signed off on as they are completed. Rank Advancement requirements for Second Class and below can be signed off on by any Scout who is at least one rank above you. Rank Advancement requirements for First Class and above can be signed off by Scoutmaster Mr. Fedina or ASMs Walter Howe and Chris Kendall. A good way for Scouts to ensure they are achieving their rank advancement goals is to select a skill/requirement to work on during the week and come to the next meeting prepared to demonstrate that skill and have it signed off on. Remember, Scouts can request a Scoutmaster conference to help create a plan for rank advancement goals.
Scout and Adult Leaders are relying on updated ScoutBook accounts to plan meetings so please update accounts as requirements are signed off on. If Scouts need assistance updating their ScoutBook account, please see Lisa Walsh during any meeting.
2018 has brought changes to Rank Advancements as well as revisions to some Merit Badges. All changes can be found here: 2018 Changes.
The Pocono Environmental Center has published their Boy Scout Badge Fest schedule (April 7, Nature Merit Badge Workshop; October 20, Mammal Study MB Workshop). These are popular programs that fill up quickly. Visit PEEC.org for more information and for registration information.
